I have a Quarter horse named Doc Done Did It in real life. He is brown with a black mane and tail. He is 17 years old but doesn't look it. He has a roached mane and I ride western. I've learned to ride both though. And love to watch every equestrian event known to man and horse.

I have a black Friesian named Midnight Majesty. She is 7 years old, I have trained her myself. She stands 16 hands. She is my brood horse in real life.

Well I did until today. My brother called me up and told me that my Midnight Majesty died. The farrier said he still doesn't know what caused it. She did have a hoof infection though, maybe that did it. It was so bad it was deforming her hoof. So maybe the infection killed her.

Oh I'm sorry. How sad. My horse had to have hoof reconstruction done two months back. Before that he had severe colic and he came close to dying. But thank God he's still here and doing fine. I have only met a Friesian in real life once in Branson, Missouri. He was soooooooo huge. Everything about him was so massive.

Yes they truly are massive. Even their skulls. They can be hot-headed at times, and very tempermental. That's why I get along with them. Because I'm the same way. Sometimes I think I'm a horse in a humans' body. LOL.

What is it like to ride a Friesian?

Post by Runningwolf on Jan 17, 2004 20:36:47 GMT 5
Well, once they get to know you, then it is just like riding any other horse.

Do they have a high stepping gait? Or just normal. I would love to feel such a powerful animal beneath me. I envy you. LOL In a good way.

Hey Nera! Why not tell us about your Arab? How often do you ride him? I'm so busy that it is like once or twice a month for Doc to be ridden. He has his life so easy.

Well I ride my boy about 5-6 times a week. It is almost show season so he wont get any days off for about 2 months... Maybe I'll lunge him the odd time instead of riding, but I cant slack off now!
His show name is Nebula and his barn name is Ben. He is 6, but in show years 7. He is THEE best horse EVER!! He has only had 10months good training. My trainer has only riden him about 3 times. He is 15.3HH and 15.2HH without shoes. He goes hunter and will soon be goign western and dressage aswell. Me and my friend are doing Lord of the Rings in Novelty Costume ;D
I'm being Gimli and she is being Legolas... But if I can, I'll talk her into being Frodo, and me Sam.

I have two horses. One is a Quarter Horse. His full name is Sterling Lone Ranger but I just call him Ranger. He is a beautiful sorrel paint 15.2hh gelding and I love him to pieces. The other horse of mine is an Arab, I don't really know if I love her yet. She is SO rude to poor Ranger. Her name is Cameo and she is 14.2hh and flea-bitten gray. She shoves him around like a baby and he is a QH, WAY towering over a wimpy little Arab like herself.

Arabians are measured differantly from other breeds.
